These stories feel irrelevant though they try their best to convey a positive message, the attempts to do so seem rather sloppy. The overall dialogue of side plots, at least compared to the main game, lead me to believe he didn't do much to contribute to these. How involved Salvato was with these stories seems tough to say without researching just how much work he put into this port.
There seems to be some debate and controversy over whether or not they take place within the same continuity as the main story, and the fact that there isn't a clear line drawn at some point regarding this is a bit worrying. The side stories however, feel like a major let down for me. It offers some nice insight into the making of the game that a lot of other titles seem to neglect nowadays. Some of the artwork we get to see, both from the pre-release and fanmade stuff, is pretty cool. From the desktop you can collect different images and music pieces from the main story and side story. The new content I have some mixed feelings about. There are a couple different choices to make, so that offers a nice chance to replay through some of the parts to see what you missed out on last time. The charm and intrigue of the original plot still holds up, although if this isn't your first rodeo in this tale then you might find yourself yawning here and there. Overall the way the developers handled porting over the experience of the game from computer to console is managed very well. With the option to pursue these women for their affections, you're given the choice of wooing Yuri, a timid bookworm who appreciates the finer things in life, Natsuki, a younger and more outgoing girl who loves to bake, or Sayori, your best friend who just wants a chance to hang out with you! Your childhood friend, Sayori, convinces you to join her literature club, where you meet three other sweet girls. In the game you play as a male student in a debatably high-school or college setting. With everything from the original game easily accessible, we also get some additional content not seen before. Serenity Forge joins the efforts of one Dan Salvato to tell a story of a person who just wants to write the way into their beloved's heart. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is the console port for the now cult classic game that came out back in 2017.
